Under The Sea

Under the Sea explores the relationship between colour, perception and imagination. Flowing blues, greens and turquoise tones move across the canvas, creating a sense of depth and fluidity that gives the painting its distinctive underwater atmosphere.

Look beyond the colour and a different world begins to emerge. Faces, characters and unexpected forms are hidden throughout the composition, some immediately visible and others concealed within the layers. As the eye travels across the canvas, new shapes appear and familiar forms begin to transform.

Despite its title, Under the Sea is not intended as a literal depiction of the ocean. Instead, the colours provide the setting for an open exploration of imagination and discovery. There is no single interpretation and no correct answer.
